Report: 2025 IWW Annual Conference

Annual Conference 2025

We are excited to report that on the 20th-22nd of June, a delegation of four members of the Cyprus Regional Organising Committee (CyROC) participated in the 2025 Annual Conference of the Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England Regional Administration (WISE-RA) of the IWW. This was CyROC’s second time taking part in an IWW Conference since our formation .

The first day started off with reports from international delegations, were our CyROC members presented a short report of our busy year. The second day was dedicated to our democratic processes and the shaping what’s next of the organisation; voting for motions, break rooms to discuss and reach consensus, friendly amendments and suggestions for the future. At the same time, members and dignitaries from other unions could participate in very interesting workshops and thought provoking presentations regarding organising campaigns in the US, France, Ireland and of course Cyprus, as well as learn how to make our processes and actions more accessible. The final day was extremely interesting as well. Even though some of our our delegates had to come back to the island, those that remained had the chance to discuss (once again) about the Socialisation of Precarity, informed about the legal process to get union recognition in the UK, learn about Edinburgh’s coalition in support of Palestine, and participate in amazing presentations regarding the PAnafrican Workers Association (PAWA) and the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) organising campaign.

Our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who helped organise such an endeavour, including, for the first time, our own officers! We would also like to highlight the hospitality, solidarity, and comradeship our delegates felt during the conference. The socialising at the end of each day, the heartfelt discussions, and the deep connections built, were a relief and a reminder that something great is possible.

For the One Big Union!
